Based on the true stories of Inger, Catherine, and Nels Nelson. Their trips from Denmark to Utah Territory, their entry into a polygamous marriage, settling in Bloomington, Idaho, and then Star Valley, Wyoming. While written as historical fiction, this story has the most complete documentation of the John Boyd voyage, the handcart company led by Captain Christiansen in 1857, and the experiences of the church wagons, also known as "Down and back" teamsters. Fact-rich, referenced documentation, full of color paintings and photos...many never seen elsewhere. Follow this family as they build homes, come to terms with jealousy, learn to love, and cleave to their faith.
