AlcoTec ALMIGWeld® Aluminum MIG Welding Wire of 3/64" Dia is made of 5183 alloy that has magnesium, manganese, chromium as the principle alloying elements. Non-heat treatable wire with 1075 to 1180 deg F melting range was developed to offer the highest strengths possible in the as-welded condition and other similar high magnesium alloys. Welding filler wire obtains white color when anodized and can be used in marine as well as structural applications where high strengths, high fracture toughness for impact resistance and exposure to corrosive elements are significant. Wire is associated with ER5183 class of wire. Wire with .096 lb/cu.in density comes in a spool of 16 lb. It meets ANSI/AWS A5.10 standards.
