The resin-filled tanks attract and absorb calcium and magnesium ions, replacing them with sodium ions, resulting in soft water. Once a tank's capacity is reached, the roles switch, ensuring a continuous softening process. The regeneration phase discards hard minerals, leaving behind soft water perfect for hotels, schools, or restaurants.
