The APC AP4452A is an automatic transfer switch that occupies 1U of rack space and gives single-cord devices a redundant power path. It monitors two independent 120 V, 20 A sources and, if the preferred line falters, shifts the load to the secondary input in less than 10 ms. That swift changeover keeps servers, switches, and storage arrays running without a reboot.

The rear panel offers ten NEMA 5-20R outlets, enough for a small rack or edge cabinet, while the dual NEMA L5-20P inputs connect to two separate branch circuits or UPS systems. Because the unit is rated for a full 20 A, it can support high-density equipment without oversubscription.

Built-in network management comes from the latest APC NMC3 card, letting you check real-time load, set alarm thresholds, and initiate a controlled transfer from a web browser, through SNMP, or from a command-line interface. Seamless integration with EcoStruxure IT places the switch into a fleet-wide dashboard for simplified oversight.
