The Battery Tender® PowerPlus™ 36V 18 Amp is engineered for both portable use and permanent on-board installation — bringing intelligent charging to 36V battery systems in golf carts, electric utility vehicles, industrial equipment, and marine applications with IP68 waterproofing, UL marine ignition protection, and Multi-Chemistry support for lead-acid and Lithium batteries.

36V On-Board Charging

36V battery systems are standard in many golf cart configurations, electric utility vehicles, and certain industrial applications. The PowerPlus™ 36V 18 Amp delivers 18 Amp output at 36V — sufficient to recover a depleted 150Ah 36V battery bank in approximately 8 hours — with ISM (Infinite Sequential Monitoring™) managing bulk charge, absorption, and float maintenance automatically. As a permanent on-board charger, it eliminates the need for external charging stations or manual connection to a portable unit each session.

IP68 Waterproof — Install Anywhere

IP68 certification provides complete dust protection and water immersion resistance beyond IP67 standards. The PowerPlus™ 36V 18 Amp can be permanently mounted in exposed locations on golf carts, in equipment bays on utility vehicles, and in wet compartments on marine vessels where standard chargers cannot be installed. No protective enclosure required.

UL Marine Ignition Protection

Certified to not produce ignition-capable sparks during operation or connection — the requirement for charging equipment installed in enclosed marine spaces near fuel systems. The PowerPlus™ 36V 18 Amp is suitable for marine applications where 36V propulsion or house systems require an ignition-protected on-board charger.

Multi-Chemistry: Lead-Acid and Lithium at 36V

A chemistry selector delivers the correct ISM charging profile for either lead-acid or Lithium (LiFePO4) batteries at 36V. The golf cart and utility vehicle market is actively transitioning from flooded lead-acid to Lithium battery packs — the PowerPlus™ 36V 18 Amp supports both chemistries at full 18 Amp output, making it a future-compatible installation regardless of current battery type.
