  Vintage: 1950's - 1970's
• Details:  A lovely butter dish with lid made by Shelton Ware, a division of Towle Silversmiths.  It is non-tarnish, chrome-plated construction featuring an elegant gadroon border and intricate finial.  This one retains the glass insert which provides practical functionality for serving, cleanup and storage. What's the best part about this butter dish? It will never tarnish, although it looks like silverplate, it is chrome, will always stay bright and shiny (no polishing!).  Instructions for clean up are simple: use mild soap, warm water and dry with a soft cloth.  Never use abrasives and NO DISHWASHER.  There are some condition issues, please see below.
• Material:  Plated Chrome
• Dimensions:   9.0 inches Long, 4.25 inches Wide and approx. 3.5 inches Tall (including finial).  Glass insert is 6" x 2.75".
• Condition:  Vintage - Used.  Good Vintage Condition.  There is a minor dent on the lid, most noticeable from the underside.  Also, a spot on the lid, looks like the plating has worn/scraped, both photographed for your review.  As with all used silverplated and metal pieces, there are minor surface scratches and marks, all acceptable due to age/use/wear.   Please review all pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we cannot accept returns.  Please remember these are VINTAGE and ANTIQUE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show scratches, wear and tear and imperfections. 

There is not much written about Shelton - Ware.  According to reliable sources, the brand  was based in New York City.  They were acquired by Towle Silversmiths, who continued to use the brand name from 1950's - 1970's.  Others say it went on until the 1990's, when Towle Silversmiths was acquired by Syratech and they stopped using the Shelton Ware brand.
