Cryptocoryne Pontederiifolia is a classic Cryptocoryne species commonly used in the planted aquarium hobby. Known for its broad green leaves, Cryptocoryne Pontederiifolia is a medium-sized Crypt and suitable for larger planted aquarium tanks although it will likely adapt to nano-sized aquarium tanks as well given its easy-going nature. Like other Cryptocoryne species, C. Pontederiifolia has low light requirements and is a great aquarium plant for beginner aquarists.

One should provide ample time for Cryptocoryne Pontederiifolia to adapt to its environment as moving it frequently may result in the death of the plant. Once settled, it has the ability to grow at a good pace. High lighting, CO2 injection and nutrient-dense aquarium soil will boost its growth and may alter its low-tech appearance as well. Final form, size, shape and color are determined by the tank it is placed in.
