• Details:  Such an adorable figurine!  It has the sweetest little gray and white birds sitting on a log.  The colors on this figurine are very soft pastels; gray, white and the softest green make up the color scheme, however, it is because of these soft colors and the gentle faces on the birds that make this such a sweet piece and very appropriate for Valentine's Day.  We had a small piece of the original OMC foil label, unfortunately it was destroyed when cleaning, we can confirm, this is original Otagiri.  It is beautiful, and worthy of a special spot in your home and heart.  Makes a romantic gift for an engagement or as bridal shower decor.  Otagiri items are becoming more and sought-after collectibles since the company's closing in 1994.

Otagiri Mercantile Company (OMC) was an importer and distributor based in San Francisco, CA from 1954-1994, they also had a location in New York.  Otagiri imported ceramics, porcelain, stoneware, and giftware from many Japanese companies. The products were made in Japan and imported for sale to high end department stores and gift shops. However, from the mid 1970's to the mid 1980's Otagiri had some items specially produced just for them and those items have the "Otagiri" brand mark. Not all OMC wares are marked, some have the gold OMC label or Otagiri written in gold or black. The company was bought by Enesco in 1994.
