The Gashgai are Turkic-speaking nomadic tribes known for their distinctive carpets. Their designs typically consist of vertically arranged rhombuses, with intricately detailed backgrounds of stylized flowers, branches, leaves, birds, and animals. These tightly knotted carpets often use red as the main color, complemented by dark blue, brown, and beige. In addition, carpets from the region have gained recognition for their subtle luxury and exceptional silk quality, with master weavers gaining worldwide recognition for their craftsmanship.
