- Vintage: 1970's - 1980's
- Details: This is a hand made wood fan, it is hand painted with beautiful orange and purple flowers, they look like poppies or daisies to us, on a black background. Both the wood and the fabric are painted with the same flowers. It has beautiful, angled, cut-outs on each side. The back is stamped: "Made in Spain". Fans have been around since Roman times but these hand held - folding fans were introduced in the West during the 17th Century, and quickly became popular. These were not only great for keeping cool, they also kept bugs and unworthy suitors away. They became a fashion accessory, much like a brooch or bracelet, these were decorative pieces of art to be worn and shown. Today we love them as home decor; whether framed and hung on the wall, opened on a base/stand on a tabletop, used as a backdrop for figurines or other knick-knacks, or several displayed together on a wall; fans can create an atmosphere of Sophistication, Romance, Bohemian, Victorian, fun, quirky or tropical, just depends on the fans and how you use them. These make great gifts for Valentines Day, Mother's day and birthdays.

- Dimensions: Open - 14.5 inches Wide. Closed - 8.0 inches Long
- Condition: Vintage - Used. Very Good Vintage Condition. There are no chips, cracks or tears. There's a little bit of glue residue on the backside. Please note this fan does not close completely flat, it remains "fanned" slightly, not a defect, looks like it's done on purpose, (see last 2 pictures). Please review pictures and make sure you love this item before purchasing, we can't accept returns. Please remember these are ANTIQUE and VINTAGE items, they are NOT new, every effort has been made to show scratches, wear and tear and imperfections.
