Orthodox Psychotherapy: Integrating Orthodox Spirituality with Psychological Practice Paperback – December 12, 2024

About the Book: This book will provide practical guidelines for therapists on how to integrate Orthodox Christian spirituality into their therapeutic practices. These guidelines will cover ethical considerations, boundaries between therapy and spiritual guidance, and how to ensure that therapy respects the free will and spiritual beliefs of clients while guiding them toward deeper spiritual and emotional health. Orthodox psychotherapy offers a way to address the totality of the human experience, blending ancient spiritual practices with contemporary psychological techniques. By integrating the wisdom of the Early Church Fathers, prayer, asceticism, and modern therapeutic tools, Orthodox psychotherapy provides a powerful and holistic means of healing for those seeking peace and transformation in their lives. This book will delve deeply into each of these elements, providing both a theological and psychological understanding of the principles behind Orthodox psychotherapy and offering practical examples and guidance for therapists in this emerging field.About the Author: Abba Hailegebriel Girma is a professor at Holy Trinity University, where he is a Vice President.
