Doug and Phil represent an American company exploring for oil in 1985. The effort is short-lived as the two men are ambushed by rebels and forced at gunpoint to travel more than 300 miles across the heart of Africa, mostly on foot. They are captive in a primitive world with no paved roads, no electricity, no water supply, and are unable to speak the language. The two hostages endure fear, thirst, hunger, exhaustion and cold. They are tormented by hoards of mosquitos and threatened by brush fires. Gunfire explodes around them as they are caught in the crossfire of political strife. This true story of survival is a testament to the strength of the human spirit. Read more
