  • MORE THAN A DRAWING KIT: Tech-A-Sketch blends art, technology, and coding into one creative STEAM project. Kids ages 8+ build a real digital drawing device, program custom brushes and shapes, and explore how pixels, coordinates, and color mixing bring digital art to life—hands-on learning that’s creative, technical, and screen-smart.
  • WHAT'S IN THE BOX: Includes a programmable LCD screen, microcontroller, knobs, buttons, PCB and wiring, and build materials so kids can design a fully functioning handheld drawing tool. Everything needed is included—USB cable, step-by-step instructions, and guided video tutorials—allowing kids to explore pixels, coordinates, and interactive digital art right out of the box.
  • CODE & CREATE: Kids use beginner-friendly, block-based coding to turn ideas into artwork. They’ll code custom brushes, patterns, shapes, and digital effects—while learning loops, variables, conditionals, debugging skills, and design thinking along the way.
  • ONLINE CODING & LESSON MATERIALS: Every kit includes access to TinkRworks’ online learning portal with a kid-friendly coding environment, scaffolded lessons, build walkthroughs, and parent/teacher support resources. No extra planning or prior experience needed—TinkRworks guides learners every step of the way to ensure a successful project.
  • REUSABLE & CUSTOMIZABLE: The digital canvas and controls are fully reprogrammable. Kids can change brush behavior, color settings, drawing modes, and interactions, encouraging iterative thinking, problem-solving, and endless replayability.
  • TRIED IN CLASSROOMS: TinkRworks kits are used in hundreds of classrooms, makerspaces, and homeschools nationwide—making Tech-A-Sketch a trusted choice for educators seeking meaningful project-based learning.
  • DEVELOPS 21st-CENTURY SKILLS: Teaches digital art principles, coordinate plotting, display technology, hardware basics, coding fundamentals (loops, variables, conditionals), creative problem-solving, and engineering habits of mind—perfect for young artists and future engineers.
  • A PERFECT GIFT FOR CREATIVE KIDS: A hands-on digital art and coding kit that lets kids build a real drawing device and create interactive artwork. An unforgettable STEM/STEAM gift for holidays, birthdays, and special occasions.
  • STEM & ESA-ELIGIBLE: These STEAM kits (Pushes Pulls & Pins, Smart Lamp, Pampered Plant, Tech-A-Sketch, TinkRsynth, TinkRbot AI, Art Electric, TinkRdrone) may qualify as reimbursable educational purchases under many Educational Savings Accounts (ESAs) when purchased as instructional materials or educational services—commonly coded as Educational Services (MCC 8299). Eligibility varies by state and plan.
