A rare, vintage Christmas display; and it's foldable! Made in Japan circa 1960s. The set includes Santa, his sleigh, and three pair of reindeer.
The sleigh and the six reindeer folds flat to store. The sleigh is made of nicely detailed balsa wood. The folding sleigh measures approximately 9 3/4" long x 4 3/4" wide x6" tall.
The reindeer are flocked in beige and brown, with embroidered eyes. Each is pair trimmed with ribbon and other adornment. Each pair of reindeer is supported by balsa wood enabling each pair to fold. Each reindeer measures approximately 8" long x 7 1/2" tall.
Santa Claus is wearing his traditional flocked red suit trimmed in white. His painted, celluloid face has a great midcentury look. He sits his sleigh with a wood support. Santa measures approximately 71/2" tall x 5 1/2" wide.
The set is in very good vintage condition. The flocking and decoration shows sign of aging. The sleigh needs a bit of finagling to have Santa stay upright. The deer and the sleigh are marked Japan.
A cool, rare piece of holiday decor. Did I mention it all folds for storage?!!
